Expanding His Kingdom
[Jesus] said to them,
“Go into all the world and preach the good news to all
creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not
believe will be condemned. And these
signs will accompany those who believe.
In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues;
they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it
will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they
will get well.”
After the Lord Jesus had
spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God.
Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked
with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it.”
(Mk 16:15-20)
Jesus said,
“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to
me. Therefore, go and make
disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the
Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have
commanded you. And surely I am with
you always, to the very end of the age.”
(Mt 28:18-20)
We
perform His commission by living in His Kingdom, proclaiming His Kingdom, and
Expanding His Kingdom by inviting the lost into His Kingdom! But first, we must
know that the Kingdom of Heaven is here now, and not something that is coming.
Jesus said,
“From the days of John the Baptist
until now, the kingdom of heaven has been forcefully advancing, and
forceful men lay hold of it”
(Matt
11:12).
Jesus
began setting up His Kingdom then, and it’s been advancing ever since – it’s
within us (Luke 17:20-21); and the His Kingdom is on display whenever we are
doing what we are doing, and especially when the gifts of Holy Spirit are active
in our lives! As some have said, “Always share the gospel, and if you must,
use words.”
We
support Expanding His Kingdom through many of ways, such as through evangelical
outreach, Bibles to the nation(s), missionary support and outreach, prison
ministries, pro-life and trafficking efforts, Christian arts, seven mountain
efforts, benevolence needs, or anywhere physical and spiritual Kingdom Biblical
needs and values are being expressed.
